

Learnix Tree Center Receives $297,000 IT and Healthcare Grant from DC Workforce Investment Council

Learnix Tree Center, a state-certified school empowering vulnerable communities to transition from unemployment or “minimum wage” to the “living wage” paradigm, has been awarded a $297,000 IT and Healthcare Grant from DC Workforce Investment Council in Washington, DC. The 1.5 year grant will fund career changing and job training/placement courses for the eligible DC residents. Under the terms of this grant, Learnix Tree Center will offer the following job training courses:

Computer Specialist - 5.5 months (Certified Diploma/ISTQB Certification) Software Testing/QA: QA analysis, Selenium, Jira, MS Office, Resume writing, Interviewing skills, Job searching skills, Business Communication skills.

Computer Programmer - 5.5 months (Certified Diploma/ISTQB Certification) Python Programmer/QA Automation: Python programming skills, PyTest, QA analysis, Selenium, Jira, MS Office, Resume writing, Interviewing skills, Job searching skills, Business Communication skills

Computer Specialist in Marketing - 5.5 months (Certified Diploma/Adobe Marketo Certification)Digital Marketing & Marketing Automation Specialist: Adobe Marketo, Email marketing, HubSpot, MS Office, Resume writing, Interviewing skills, Job searching skills, Business, Communication skills
All courses are provided alongside intensive hands-on internship emulating real office environments followed by an aggressive job placement campaign with emphasis on the interview skills development, resume writing and professional social media exposure.
Learnix Tree Center routinely refers graduates for jobs with the established corporate partners and relevant non-profit organizations such as WayUp.com.
The DC Workforce Investment Council validates students eligibility for all programs utilizing the DC Data Vault system. The eligibility criteria include but not limited to being:
